I feel like I’m writing the same article over and over again whenever a black person’s life is cut down by a cop whose usual excuse is that he was protecting himself even though he was armed and his victim wasn’t. Such is certainly the case in my home state of South Carolina when another brotha left this word violently by a negrophobic-apparent cop.
In a neighborhood in North Charleston, Officer Michael Slager shot eight rounds into Walter Scott, a black male who was running away at the time. He got shot in the back five times. He was apparently unarmed when he died at the scene.
Slager, like almost all cops in similar incidents, said that he feared for this life. If there’s one thing most cops, especially white cops fear and hate the most is a black man, including those of the unarmed variety. Slager said that Scott tried to reach for his stun gun during a scuffle at a traffic stop. But a video has surfaced showing the murder from start to finish questioning the police report.
The New York Times reports:
“The shooting unfolded after Officer Slager stopped the driver of a Mercedes-Benz with a broken taillight, according to police reports. Mr. Scott ran away, and Officer Slager chased him into a grassy lot that abuts a muffler shop. He fired his Taser, an electronic stun gun, but it did not stop Mr. Scott, according to police reports.
Moments after the struggle, Officer Slager reported on his radio: “Shots fired and the subject is down. He took my Taser,” according to police reports.
But the video, which was taken by a bystander and provided to The New York Times by the Scott family’s lawyer, presents a different account. The video begins in the vacant lot, apparently moments after Officer Slager fired his Taser. Wires, which carry the electrical current from the stun gun, appear to be extending from Mr. Scott’s body as the two men tussle and Mr. Scott turns to run.”
Slager has been fired and charged for the murder of Scott.
Some say that the video is what led to the firing and charging of Michael Slager. They say that if the video didn’t exist, Slager would’ve gotten off lightly with probably a suspension or some other light sentence. Given the history of white cops killing black men and have gotten nothing more than a tap on the wrist, I’d say that this case will likely go in favor of Slager. It’s sad to assume it will happen, but remember where we live. We stay in America where the killing of a black person means nothing to society and even less to cops who hate and fear black folks.
Recently, I’ve been getting a heavy influx of people, some claiming to be black, that deny that racism is a significant problem in this nation. I can only guess that they would likely blame Walter Scott for his own death. If he had been more of a “respectable” man, he would’ve been alive today.
The main argument I seem to get are that black people are “too wild”. We seem to be entrenched in this killer criminality plague that is responsible for half the murders in this nation, or so the argument goes. Yet, no one has been able to come up with an explanation as to why that’s so, but one logical cause they won’t accept is white supremacy.
Some people can’t or won’t fathom that this is still a racist society. They don’t seem to comprehend that racism has taken on the form of a complex monster that is still out for colored blood. Why are so many black people getting killed by cops? Is it because black people are out of control and deserve what they get? Or is it due to the police’s psychological fear and disdain for black life that can not be explain in a few words?
As we witness another black man dying at the hands of a white cop as we watch the gruesome video, some people will not accept this as probable proof that racism exists. They will boil this down to an isolated incident, even though it’s part of a long chain of “isolated incidents”, each strikingly so similar. When people continue to deny racism of this caliber, you can best believe that the slaughter of black folks by white cops will continue.
By Lavern Merriweather:
Okay. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, I don’t believe in Bigfoot, aliens, ghosts or the Loch Ness monster. However, the latest and disturbing growing number of black people getting killed by police has given me more than enough reason to take notice. It’s not just the amount of people that bothers me, it’s also the fact that they are getting away with it so damn easily.
I wrote a post a while back about how this new breed of cop murder is just another form of lynching, and the cops in most cities across America have done nothing to prove me wrong. Actually, it’s the exact opposite, despite some on the force seen shaking hands with the protesters or giving them hugs. Hugs and handshakes, as lovely as they are, aren’t the solution to a very disturbing problem.
We need real actual effort on the part of the police all over the country to put themselves in check before they go into a black neighborhood. Not just a cutesy poo ‘we are the world act’ for the cameras, which I think is just for show. The cops had no issue with previously setting tanks and M-16s on black people protesting, a scene reminiscent of the 1960’s where black folks were violently attacked by the police with dogs and hoses.
Now, all of a sudden it’s supposed to be a love fest even as 19 year-old teen Tony Robinson lays dead from a gunshot wound. Mr. Robinson is the young man from Madison, Wisconsin that has become another statistic in the long line of young black folks dying at the hands of cops. The cop who shot him, Matt Kenny, claims that he shot Robinson in the head because Robinson was punching him and being combative. Where I have I heard that one before?
Apparently, Kenny feels that there was just no other way he could have handled that situation besides brutally gunning down young Mr. Robinson. I call BULLSHIT! How many times have we heard of white males – some older and therefore stronger than Mr. Robinson, getting into extremely physical altercations with police and not a one of them were shot dead? Even if there wasn’t a video available, that white male still comes out of the altercation with his live very much intact.
Kenny also says that he went to that housing project because of a 911 call and that when he arrived, Robinson’s suspicious behavior compelled him to chase Robinson. Once again I call bullshit!
The bottom line is that this cuntbag saw a young black youth, albeit in this case, a light skinned one, and immediately assumed he was up to no good, that coupled with my own opinion of why these cases are happening with such regularity and that is none other than the President of the United States.
We all are fully aware that electing a black man into the white House didn’t make this country post-racial. Far from it. Yes, I know that young black males who were not dangerous and unarmed were getting shot prior to Obama becoming president. But damn, doesn’t it feel like this stories keep happening with a rapid succession?
They haven’t even laid the last body to rest before we hear another sad, sordid tale of a cop shooting a black youth then walking away scot free. Twelve year–old Tamir Rice was playing with what many who have seen the video said was visibly a toy gun. Yet, his life, like many others, was taken by a trigger happy cop.
I understand that the attitude of most cops, even black people, is that young Negroes are born bad. So, when one even looks at you funny shoot first to save yourself. However, with the election of Obama something greater is at stake for a bunch of white folks, and that is potential.
Young black males see that they can not only have a future but one as a leader. They don’t have to rely on that excuse that they don’t believe they will make it to their 25th birthday. They can someday be in charge having white folks answering to them and that scares the holy hell out of certain white people. Don’t agree, just check out the Tea Party slogan of “Take our country back”. What the fuck else is that but a call to arms? That is another rhetoric, fear induced mindset that we have to put these darkies back in their place, lest they begin thinking too much of themselves by believing that they could one day become president.
As we have seen with a certain rapper I won’t name, black men having far too much faith in their abilities scares the crap out of some white folks. What better way to show those beneath you that you are the one in power than to sick your militia on them. That is what happened in France and Russia during the 50’s and 60’s and it continues to happen to black people in the good old US of A. Not to ‘act’ like black males are the only ones subject to the tyranny of a police state.
Rekia Boyd, Marlene Pinnock, Matrice Richardson, Aiyana Jones and Katherine Johnson are several of the names of black females that have also suffered at the hands of 5-0. And just like black men, their deaths or beatings have met with little to no recourse for the officers involved. You know, cops have over stepped their bounds when even white males on Fake Noise are calling them out. One of the hosts on FOX’s conservative gabfest “Red Eye” named Andy Levy said that the reason there is so much turmoil and conflict is because of the way the cops are acting. Andy pointed out, and I agree, that when you keep treating people like shit they will respond in kind.
His comments were in regards to two police that were shot in Ferguson, Missouri. Of course the new chief of police that replaced the one who stepped down is doing his utmost to find whoever was responsible. He doesn’t seem nearly as concerned with doing everything possible to stop his employees from terrorizing and murdering black folks, particularly at a time when white fears of losing what they have to the darkie horde is at a zenith. The police now have to walk a fine line because the ones they have brutalized are fighting back. Believe me when I say that their new love, a dove behavior with the Negroes in the community is because they are under the gun for a change. The police have realized that they are vulnerable as well and that the people who they have used for their own personal whipping boys and girls aren’t going to take it anymore.
Instead of trying to save face, maybe they should do a better job of rearranging their policies. There is a quote from the great Martin Luther King that goes “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth leaves everybody blind and toothless”. If the powers that be get the message that black folks refuse to tolerate their shit, then I think it’s worth it.
Black Male Season continues, and the rules are simple. Murder a defenseless black person. The end. No punishments harsh enough to fit the crime, if there are any punishments.
Darren Wilson is the most notable example of a hunter where the he doesn’t follow the rules, but instead the rules follow him. And there is still no push to convict this pig for the murder of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen killed by him last year.
The so-called ‘Justice’ Department is not expected to file any civil rights charges against Wilson. Why? Because the FBI found no evidence. What a shock.
The New York Times reports:
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. and his civil rights chief, Vanita Gupta, will have the final say on whether the Justice Department will close the case against the officer, Darren Wilson. But it would be unusual for them to overrule the prosecutors on the case, who are still working on a legal memo explaining their recommendation.
If Holder is no Clarence Thomas, he would let the case continue until Brown’s family gets justice and Wilson gets prosecuted. Will Holder has what it takes to do what is considered “unusual”? We’ll have to see.
A decision by the Justice Department would bring an end to the politically charged investigation of Mr. Wilson in the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The Missouri authorities concluded their investigation into Mr. Brown’s death in November and also recommended against charges.
But a broader Justice Department civil rights investigation into allegations of discriminatory traffic stops and excessive force by the Ferguson Police Department remains open. That investigation could lead to significant changes at the department, which is overwhelmingly white despite serving a city that is mostly black.
Darren Wilson is a true pig who continues to grunt and squeal that he was the one being attack despite eyewitness testimony and other forms of evidence contradicting him, suggesting he was the true aggressor. As with most other entries of the saga where black lives are cast aside like trash, I don’t see any kind of justice that will bring a much-needed twist in this story.
But I’ve been wrong before.
By Lavern Merriweather:
This post might seriously offend some people, which is why I was so hesitant to write it. However, since I am like everyone else in this country entitled to my opinion, here goes.
There has been a lot of talk in the news lately about two NYPD officers that were murdered by an African-American gunman. The officers named Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were ambushed as they sat in their squad car by a local man named Ismaaiyl Brinsley. The shooter then ran to a New York City subway where he took his own life with his gun. Mr. Brinsley claimed on his Facebook page that the killings were in retaliation for the many recent shooting deaths of young black males.
I, for one, feel no sympathy whatsoever for the cops that were brutally gunned down. If that sounds cruel and thoughtless, then just think about what the families of those murdered young black men are dealing with right now. I would also suggest that anyone reading this post think about how the media and cops are framing this story.
When the news broke about the shootings the two cops were humanized immediately. That’s not what happens when a black man like Eric Garner or Mike Brown is killed. They are seen as thugs and criminals who were doing something bad anyway. Apparently to white people in the media and cops on the beat, selling cigarettes on the street is a crime punishable by death. Not only was no one in the lamestream media that outraged by Mr. Garner’s death; they also didn’t call out the cops who killed for their use of excessive force. Many of NYPD’s so-called ‘finest’ took to Twitter and went on several angry rants attacking Mr. Garner’s weight, claiming that had to be the cause of his untimely death, as if choking someone by strong arming them around their throat while your cop buddies hold that person’s arms so they can’t defend themselves is a justifiable act. Or that you can claim, with a straight face, that your actions had nothing to do with someone’s death.
After the shootings of officers Liu and Ramos, the media went on a frenzy to paint the two fallen cops as saintly as possible. You would have thought they could walk on water then turn it into wine the way the media was carrying on. That never happened when white male Eric Frien, shot and killed two cops in Arizona. (I won’t mention the officers names because I don’t know them.) The media didn’t elevate them to perfection status once they were dead like they are doing with the two New York cops.
It also didn’t happen when white couple Jarrod and Amanda Miller shot and killed two cops in Las Vegas. I don’t know the names of those two cops either. Come to think of it, I don’t even think they showed the police officers pictures whereas officer Liu and officer Ramos’ pictures have been on constant rotation non-stop. This leads me to believe that it’s more about who did the shooting rather than the end result.
There was no public outcry from Attorney General Eric Holder or visits to the funerals from Vice President Joseph Biden. There sure as shit wasn’t a rush to speak out from former elected officials rushing to decry what a horrific tragedy this is and how this will lead to anarchy and panic in the streets. Not one word of distress or disgust was spoken about the cops who died at the hands of the Miller couple or Eric Frien. Rudy Giuliani didn’t use the deaths of those cops as a platform for his bigoted and divisive agenda. In fact I feel that Giuliani needs to fuck off and stay his ass out of this all together. Let’s not forget his very sorry and shitty track record when it came to handling suspicious deaths involving black folks and cops. That goes triple for former New York governor George Pataki. Neither of them uttered a peep about the Millers or Frein despite the fact that all three of them were associates of white male nutjob Cliven Bundy.
For those not in the know Bundy is a racist, separatist loony asshole who heads his own tea party and has a ranch where he invites like-minded idiots to vent about their hatred for the government and for President Obama, of course being the main target of their wrath, seeing how they just can’t stand that a darkie from another country is leading America.
Mr. Brinsley’s family has adamantly stated that the killings of the two cops had nothing to do with the murders of Mike Brown and Eric Garner. They, like a lot of the protesters and even activist Al Sharpton, are denouncing the behavior of the gunman. I say FUCK THAT! If Mr. Brinsley’s actions were a direct result of cops getting away with murder, then I say bravo. He did what a lot of Negroes do; talk a good game about but never follow through. If my opinion offends anyone, too bad, because the cops made this us vs. them – meaning black folks – long before I even entered this planet. And judging from the ridiculously arrogant, insensitive, whiny and malevolent comments they are making, that attitude won’t change any time soon if at all.
Most of the cops commenting have absolved themselves of any responsibility or any wrongdoing when it comes to how they deal with black people. All while making egotistical excuses by whining that cops are ‘human’. That is such a contradictory notion, not to mention laughable, if it weren’t so destructive. How the fuck are you going to correct a problem when you flat out refuse to acknowledge it, especially when you refuse to take any accountability for the part that you have played in creating this mindset of hatred?
Even after the shootings cops still have made it all about them with the always-willing help of the media. The perspective of white male cops and white male politicians is the only one I have heard of late. There have been zero attempts by white males in the media to have a fair and balanced discussion. The people mainly affected by cop violence and brutality are being selfishly left out of the conversation.
By the way, NYPD and police departments all over the country being human is no excuse to justify your thuggish stupidity. Humans also have biases and prejudices that they use to judge others something the cops crying that none of this is their fault seem to have forgotten.
Another thing white male cops need to stop using religion to defend their own arrogant obliviousness. One such white male cop named Peter Miller had the absolute nerve to say that he has a God given right because of his chosen profession to protect his family. First of all jag-off God had NOTHING to do with you becoming a cop. That was solely your decision. Second of all, I and every black person that you disregard daily with your privileged mentality has that same fucking right. Third, his self-centered belief tells me that many white cops don’t give a damn about bridging the gap or closing the angry rift that they made with black folks. Sorry Jonathan Capeheart of the Washington Post, but it ain’t police policy that’s viciously killing Negroes while doing it in the name of God. It is cops like Miller and the head of the fraternal order of police in Chicago Dean Angelo who said that it was a ‘sin’ to point an accusatory finger at the cops. Well whose fault is it then prick? Oh that’s right. According to their logic, it’s because we darkies won’t do as we are told by cops. Gee maybe that’s because so many of them are arrogant, moronic, thuggish, racist lowlifes that see black life as worthless as a fly they smash with a newspaper.
I find it interesting that the two cops are men of color. Men who a number of these white folks crying over them wouldn’t give a damn about were they not fellow brothers in blue. If that’s what it takes to gain cops respect, then no thank you. I only regret that one of the cops killed wasn’t a cop who killed an unarmed black male anywhere in America.
By Lavern Merriweather:
After two NYPD cops were shot and killed by gunman Ismaaiyl Brinsley, a bunch of cops starting using the hashtag #NYPDLivesMatter. That statement, as Brotha so accurately pointed out, is a complete slap in the face to the current moniker being used by protesters called #BlackLivesMatter. So, not only are cops in New York and elsewhere insulting and insensitive, they aren’t even original.
You have such disdain for us, yet you copy our slogans all while disrespecting us. Then, cops have the gall to wonder why there is hatred from many black people in the American public. And when they aren’t being offensive as hell, they are making bullshit excuses to justify their evil.
I am done forever with the notion that being in a noble profession makes a person noble. Or that being a good cop automatically makes you a good human being, cause it doesn’t. The minute those two cops were killed, there was a PR rush by them, the media and white male politicians to defend their honor. Cops are using the same logic that black people feel about them that causes these protests to begin with. They want us to see their humanity while denying ours every damn chance they get. So, if the police in America want to be angry because of what happens, good go right ahead. Now, they have just a small taste of what the people they treat like crap have been dealing with for decades.
After Officer Ramos, in particular, was killed, the media bent over backwards to join his son in expressing grief. Eric Garner was also a father, but of course, we heard nothing from his family or anything of his life. He was just another bad Negro doing something that he had no business doing, as if that has ANY bearing on how cops treat black people.
That’s another thing that pisses me off. Cops need to stop lecturing us about facing off against them. Cops in America need to worry more about how they are behaving rather than talking down to us. What really bothers me is that even some of the protesters are agreeing and saying all lives matter. No, all lives don’t matter according to them and that’s why we still have a problem. Cops still won’t take any accountability and still don’t see themselves as the reason behind this whole mess.
When Ice- T’s controversial hit song “Cop Killer” came out 23 years ago, many cops bitched about the lyrics. They never once stopped to take a moment and question why they are so despised and reviled by black folks. That also goes for all the rhetoric they are spewing which boils down to nothing more than we are more important than the darkies we murder all the time. They are pissed because the schoolyard bully just got his ass handed to him by the 98 pound nerd.
Black folks, unlike other races, are expected to tolerate being a doormat for the police. We aren’t allowed to fight back, speak out or even utter one word about police brutality. Negroes in America are at the bottom of the food chain. So who do we think we are complaining? We should just sit back and let the police departments across the country walk all over us. Cops can’t possibly violate our civil rights, because we don’t have any. Nor apparently in their minds do we deserve any either.
They can’t keep saying to us how much their lives matter when they don’t think ours do. They want to talk about getting home safe to their loved ones or making an honest hard day’s work. Obviously, they don’t believe that’s the same ideals that a lot of black people have. And usually, when a white person means ‘hard working’, they don’t mean anybody who is African-American. To the police every last black person is a criminal, but they won’t ever say that shit out loud.
The other day, some jag-off on YouTube was whining about how cops are unfairly generalized. He said that cops get painted with the same brush regardless. In case he hasn’t noticed, that’s the very same thing that cops do to us! As I have stated before when you are black your age, occupation, looks, wealth and how you present yourself has no bearing whatsoever on the way cops react to you. And as I have also said, most of the times cops go into black neighborhoods they are looking for trouble. Even if the area itself isn’t a bad or dangerous, one cop will always find some excuse to intimidate the residents living there.
Cops will never admit it but they see every black face as a bad person, yet they see no fault with that mentality. They still insist on making the conflict that they have with black folks ours exclusively.
I am a firm believer that you get out of this world exactly what you put into it. Police can hide their heads in the sand and ignore the pink elephant, but that won’t change the truth. It doesn’t help matters that they are the only ones with a voice we need to get our opinions out there too if for nothing else than to call them on their bullshit and have our side of the story represented for once. If they demand that we recognize their humanity then they damn well better see ours also. If they want to demand that their lives matter then our lives damn well better matter too. Otherwise, that culture of distrust and anger that they have cultivated will only go on and on.
And they can forget about any little speeches or posturing regarding the value of their being allowed another day. It’s very interesting to me that now all of a sudden cops are speaking of mending fences with the very community they have bullied for so long. They should have been considering that before they lost two of their own. They should also take a long look at their own statements before deciding whose lives have worth and whose lives don’t. Don’t keep talking a good game while doing absolutely nothing to back up your words. You want peace? You want an end to the violence? Then prove it. Maybe you also need to start realizing that you aren’t blameless in any of this or that you can’t continue to cry about how your lives matter while you eagerly believe that the lives of those who are beholden to you don’t.
By Lavern Merriweather:
I have a lot of admiration for the current mayor of New York Bill DeBlasio. If, for nothing else, he’s not afraid to fight for what he believes. And he’s got more guts and heart than the last 15 mayors of that city put together especially America’s favorite Rudy Giuliani. Mr. DeBlasio has been taking some serious crap from the police department of New York, because he has sided with African-American protesters.
When the mayor went to the funerals for two cops recently killed, the police there turned their backs on him. That act was a complete and utter dick move meant to disrespect DeBlasio, because he is facing so much resentment from the NYPD. I have a very sneaky suspicion that many on the force are pissed at him because of his son Dante. White folks are notorious in this day and age for not coming out and saying what they really mean. In case you have been under a rock the past couple of years, Bill’s son Dante is part-black. So, you can’t tell me that some of the anger he is facing just has nothing to do with his affection for his child.
The reality of the situation is that New York’s latest mayor is fully aware of the danger his son is in dealing with cops. I’m sure he’s heard the very tragic stories about Amadou Diallo, Mike Brown, Oscar Grant, Malice Green, Timothy Thomas, Eric Garner and countless others. Although Mr. DeBlasio is not a black man, he has a black son, which gives him a special insight into trying to raise and protect his teenage offspring. That is something white parents rarely, if ever, will have to spend endless nights pondering. He has the unique privilege of realizing just how much a young black life matters, because it’s the person he created with his wife. There is a shitload more at stake for him than any other mealy-mouthed white male politician offering promises that they won’t deliver on. Or giving false security with clever words as they hope to appease a frustrated and pent-up black horde. Perhaps for the only time there is a white male who can truly say he knows how the other half lives, because half of him is their main target. He knows what threat awaits his son who sports a full on old school afro with light yet still noticeably black skin. There is no way he can sacrifice his first born while kissing the ass of the NYPD regardless of how many toes get stepped on.
I would bet millions of imaginary dollars that if the choice came right down to it, DeBlasio would pick his son over the cops. The conversation Bill has with his son is going to be very different than the one that Giuliani has with his boy. This is probably what has so many on the police force back East up in arms. They have dropped many not-so subtle hints that DeBlasio is biased because of Dante. To that I say, well no shit Sherlock! Of course, he has more concern for his son’s life than hurting the feelings of those officers. Dante is his son, and he has every right to side with his son over a group of people that would think nothing of taking his son’s life in a hot minute. The man is in his 50’s, and he’s not stupid. He knows damn good and well what kind of trouble could potentially be out there for his son, the same kind of trouble that many young and old black folks have had forced on them for so long.
For those who think that this attitude is being spurred on by his wife, I call bullshit. As I stated before, he doesn’t strike me as a dumb man or a man who needs someone else to do his thinking for him. Yes, he probably saw this coming even before Dante was born, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have conceived him.
It’s the cops who are at fault for making black people hate them and for making themselves the enemy. Now, they are trying to make DeBlasio their enemy, because they don’t like where his loyalties lie. Well guess what assholes, he is behaving as any parent worth their salt would. There is nothing irrational about wanting to keep your child from harm, especially when it comes from arrogant, racist, privileged thugs who use their badge as a birthright to brutality.
Not only has there been no remorse or apologies from the NYPD, the cops in the big apple have been downright defiant. They see no issue with all the unnecessary violence that they have perpetuated for years. Of course, Mr. DeBlasio has to put on a good show to try and please everyone. That’s his job. However, he shouldn’t have the cops demand that he decide between them and his son. I gather they won’t like the answer since they have this ‘if you ain’t with us, then you are against us’ mentality.
Interesting how the cops speak of their families and wanting to keep them safe while attacking DeBlasio for doing the very same thing. He wants his son to make it to a ripe old age too, and they have no business whatsoever to deny him that right. They already think that they can deny his son a hassle free life from their tyranny and supremacy. I don’t blame his father one bit for saying, hey not with my damn kid you don’t. That’s what he is supposed to do, not spare the hurt bunny attitude of fools that abuse their power. Then use the supremacy mindset to justify that behavior knowing whose side the majority of the public will be on any time there is an altercation with a Negro that ends fatally.
But now they want to get huffy, because the mayor of their town has other ideas. Instead of turning their backs on him they should be trying to change the rhetoric. They want to be irate, because it won’t work this time like it did before. There is a new era in charge, and that is what I believe actually has them so upset.
Even DeBlasio’s opponents weren’t the least bit shy in turning back the proverbial racism clock to derail his campaign, because he proudly paraded around his bi-racial family. Many criticized him for trying to get the black vote by saying, ‘See, I have Negroes in my house and they aren’t robbing the place’. Last time I looked, all the politicians’ showcase the most important people in their life come election time. What’s wrong with his picture is that his family is not the typical white reflection that most of America has come to expect. And DeBlasio is a white male that has a far different agenda than previous politicians from buying into their bullshit. He has his own mind and his own personal reasons for how he feels. So, if they don’t like it, they can turn their fronts to the Hudson River then jump in.

2015 will be upon us, unless you’ve read this post after New Year’s. But looking back in the year 2014, it was definitely a wild ride with more loops to go through.
We lost several famous people along the way. We lost James Avery and Juanita Moore when the year started on a ridiculously cold note due to that thing known as the polar vortex. You know, the time when everything was much colder than usual and conservatives considered it proof that there’s no such thing as global warming.
Then, there was the whole Chris Christie scandal and that situation with the Washington Bridge. It was on the news for a while, but I guess it’s no longer an issue, at least for the New Jersey mayor.
I guess people were more hyped about the Seattle Seahawks going to the Super Bowl with Richard Sherman leading the charge in the most scary-to-most-white-people way when he trashed talked like a WWE wrester on national TV. People, mostly racists, considered that “thug” behavior. We all know why that is. But even if he was “respectable” like Forrest Whitiker’s role in the movie The Butler, racist fuckers would still find a reason to hate on Sherman. A black man, especially a father doing the damn thing like combing his daughter’s hair can never win in this shithole of a society. If assholes like Ted Nugent can take a shit on the legacy of Dr. King, they can screw over any black person. Or they would prefer to find the less reputable of us like that video of a toddler cursing up a storm while adults got their chuckles on and consider that as “black culture”.
That gave rise to the media sensation of the so-called “knockout games” where a few black youth would literally knock down random people in the street. Media reporting got so bad that you have people like Ashley Depew “creating” nonexistent black suspects to cover up those who actually fucked them up.
The hatred of black men is evident among America’s “finest” as it seems like we’ve seen a spike of cop killings this year alone. We’ve lost Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Akai Gurley, Eric Garner, John Crawford and Yvette Smith, Tanesha Anderson and God knows who else. And those responsible such as the pigs that murdered Aiyana Standley-Jones, Michael Brown and Tamir Rice were able to walk away thanks to a racist injustice system.
Cops like Darren Wilson, Jeffery Follmer and apparently, hundreds of cops nationwide have that police privilege that immunes them from any responsibility when they abuse or kill anyone, including unarmed black folks. They think that they’re just doing their job and everything would be cool if people would just cooperate. And if they get their asses beat, that’s all on them.
Out of that chaos sprang a movement that demands that black lives be given the respect and dignity that is only afforded to white people. One man by the name of Ismaaiyl Brinsley took it to fatal extremes executing two cops after shooting his girl and before taking his own life. And the media saw fit to link him to the movement.
Speaking of the media and its shenanigans, have you noticed how black victims are treated poorly as compared to white suspects? If not, lots of people did. It seems white people are basically good folks, but a few – according to the same media – have glitches that cause them to go haywire in the most violent way possible. Such was the case of Elliot Rodger, the misogynistic, racist, overprivileged fool who shot up Isla Vista in California or Bradley William Stone, the guy who shot six people in Pennsylvania before killing himself. And let’s not forget the pumpkin madness caused by young whites over something stupid or the usual Halloween racists who still haven’t gotten the moment that people of color are not costumes. All while showing the world they didn’t care too much for the numerous African women kidnapped earlier this year.
White people, particularly those of the famous variety, continued to show off their privileges and racism this year. Iggy Azalea, Ridley Scott (Well, Hollywood in general for producting such tripe like Blended, Noah and Exodus), Donald Sterling, Tal Fortgang, Anthony Cumia (One-half of the former duo Opie and Anthony), the dudes who frequent on websites like 4chan, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, the fools who went to poor black neighborhoods pranking poor blacks and almost getting their asses whooped on and, of course, xPrae continue to deny white privilege while actively perpetuating, participating, producing and promoting it.
We also saw black shame from the media. Ray Rice (and a few other black athletes that caught the attention of TMZ which caught the attention of other news outlets), Solange and yes, Bill Cosby have made the news for all the wrong reasons that threaten negative stereotypes. Ray Rice beat his wife. Solange beat Jay-Z. And Cosby’s accused of beating up the pu…well, I won’t go there, but you know what I mean. He’s accused of being a serial rapist. Then there’s the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Love and Hip Hop and the scourge known as Sorority Sisters. Does Mona Scott hate black people?
We lost a lot of notable people this year. We lost James Avery, Robin Williams, The Ultimate Warrior, Marion Berry, Big Bank Hank of the Sugar Hill Gang, Buster Jones, Joan Rivers, Meshach Taylor, Bobby Womack, Casey Kasem, Ruby Dee, Chester Nez, Yuri Kochiyama, Dr. Maya Angelou, Bob Hoskins, DJ E-Z Rock, Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Karyn Washington, Frankie Knuckles and Chokwe Lumumba,
However, we’ve seen a lot of great things this year. Shonda Rhimes wows audiences with her new show How to Get Away with Murder starring Viola Davis. We saw the release of Blackish starring Anthony Anderson and Tracey Ellis Ross. We see Michael Sam showing the world that being gay is a beautiful thing. We saw young black women and men being overachievers, geniuses, entrepreneurs, activists, defying stereotypes and doing the damn thing. And we will, without a doubt, see more of that in 2015.
