For Confederate Flag Defenders

CONFEDERATE FLAG

The following is a quote from the man who designed the Confederate battle flag, William Tappan Thompson. Defending it, he wrote the following:

“As a people, we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race; a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause… Such a flag…would soon take rank among the proudest ensigns of the nations, and be hailed by the civilized world as THE WHITE MAN’S FLAG.… As a national emblem, it is significant of our higher cause, the cause of a superior race, and a higher civilization contending against ignorance, infidelity, and barbarism. Another merit in the new flag is, that it bears no resemblance to the now infamous banner of the Yankee vandals.”

Now, do you still want to defend the flag? If not, thanks for finally waking up. If so, go fuck yourself.

  1. You nailed it Brothawolf! These neo-Confederates and Conservatives have no darn shame in their hatred, racist and often blood thirst history targeting black folks.

What’s truly at stake here is the issue of masculinity. The neo-Confederate’s view that idiotic flag coming down not only as an indication of their collective frailty and a threat to their masculinity and power, but also as a case of personal and political castration.

  2. You took the words out of my mouth.

The cough..cough…cough..excuse me..the KKK is suppose to be marching in Charleston and one of their supporters repeated the very words William said.

As a Southern Black woman, that flag hasnt and never will represent me. Funny how they boast about the greatness over that flag, while slaves were still in bondage. Im not a butt kisser and I refuse to stand for anything that is false. I love being Southern but
anything symbolizing the Confederacy has to go..as Obama said..to the
    museum..or in the garbage.

  3. ..This article’s quoted, documented Proof of the racist intent of the designer o’ this flag speaks volumes n’ then some about what that wretched friggin’ bars n’ stars symbol is really about ‘Wolf and should be mandatory reading and teaching in all U.S. (and other) schools!

  4. You realize that William Tappan Thompson was actually a Yankee from Ohio and a Democrat who moved to Savannah to start a newspaper.
